The Mission of the Alice Baer Memorial Foundation

The Mission of the Alice Baer Memorial Foundation is to:

Promote music for the betterment of North Dakota aspiring musicians and facilities instrumental in educating and promoting music. To include but not limited to, musical instruments, instruction, scholarships and entertainment. To realize having a gift of music is special and to pass that value on to others is an honor.

What is the Alice Baer Memorial Foundation?

The Alice Baer Memorial Foundation is for musically talented persons that could enhance their talent with an instrument or further instruction.

A musical instructor would be qualified to submit entries for persons they feel could benefit from a scholarship, an instrument or further instruction. We would like to extend funds to the recipients choice of musical instructors, musical establishment or school.

Requirements & Criteria

1. The applicant has to have completed at least two (2) years of continuous study or performance in group and or private lessons.
2. The applicant has to demonstrate a true passion for music and a plan for continuing to study and/or perform.
3. All applications must be legible, if you are unable to type onto the original application, a word processed application that includes duplicate questions from the original in its entirety may be submitted.
4. Support materials: newspaper articles, printed programs, ect. May be submitted or requested. Please limit to three items.
5. One audio Cassette tape of compact disc of three to four minutes, accompanied or unaccompanied which is indicative of the student’s performance level. Live auditions may be requested before the final decision is made.
6. A personally written letter, giving the panel an opportunity to get to know the student and his/her background, interest  and participation in music and future musical plans.
